On June, 30 within the III Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of Asian-Pacific region in the Maly Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Society there was held a recital of a pianist from China Ji Liu.
For this concert in Krasnoyarsk the 22-year-old pianist has prepared a program of works by Russian and European composers. The musician said that he has loved Russian music since early childhood: "Sergei Prokofiev, Alexander Scriabin - they are ones of my favorite Russian composers. Here, in Russia, I wanted to play just their works. Suite Bergamasque by Debussy was chosen because it is his earliest work. Performed by me Four Etudes by Prokofiev were composed by him at the age of 21-22, as well. Chopin’s and Beethoven's creations were included in my programme, because the audience has always warmly welcomed them. "
Ji Liu noted, that he had performed on the Krasnoyarsk stage for the first time, but that was his second visit to Russia. "Your city is wonderful; there is a river and hills around. People are very friendly. I especially like the Russian audience because it has always had a feeling for music and supported ", - said the musician. The audience warmly applauded after each piece and didn’t let the pianist leave the stage. For encore Ji Liu performed a work by an Austrian pianist and composer of the XX century Friedrich Gulda.

Ji Liu started his musical education at the age of 3. At the age of 13 Ji made his recital at Carnegie Hall (USA). Having won his first professional competition at the age of seven (1997), the pianist has received numerous musical awards and prizes.
The musician was applauded in prestigious concert halls in New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam and other cities. Ji Liu participated in master classes of such famous musicians as Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Claude Frank, Richard Goode, Boris Berman, Yuri Bashmet and others. Now Ji takes lessons at the teachers of the Royal Academy of Music in London.
