The IV Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific region has been completed with a grandiose gala concert at the Big Concert Hall. The orchestra of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet led by Honored Artist of Russia Anatoly Chepurnoy opened the first part of the concert program dedicated to classical music. The musicians performed the overture to the opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila" by Mikhail Glinka.
Then the Acting chairman of The Government of the Krasnoyarsk region, the Chairman of the festival organizing committee Viktor Tomenko addressed the guests and participants of the festival. He thanked the leaders of the countries-participants and the representatives of diplomatic missions for support of the festival and said that this year’s event has considerably enlarged its boundaries - 67 creative groups and performers from 30 countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the Commonwealth of Independent States have come to Krasnoyarsk. "During the festival the participants shared their emotions with dwellers and guests of the Krasnoyarsk region, acquainted them with their unique cultures. Performances of the participants of the Festival have aroused great interest and sincere delight of the audience both in Krasnoyarsk and in the districts of the region. I thank everyone who helped us make this event vivid and memorable ", - said Victor Tomenko.
The guest of honor of the festival, a member of Council of the Federation Committee of the Russian Federation for Foreign Affairs Lyubov Glebova on behalf of the Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament Valentina Matvienko and colleagues-senators thanked the organizers of the APFestival for their big and difficult work. She noted that on the Krasnoyarsk land the large-scale and ambitious project has been successfully realized.
The festive concert program was continued by opera singers from Kazakhstan, Korea, groups and musicians from Mongolia, Japan and Mexico.
In the second part of the concert artists and unique folk groups of India, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, Bangladesh, Fiji presented their original cultures.
The culmination of the concert became the performance of the Krasnoyarsk National Dance Company of Siberia of M. S. Godenko. The dancers performed a work from the "golden fund" – a choreographic suite "Along the street", which colorfully conveys the atmosphere of the Russian festive stroll in the streets. According to the tradition, near the end all the participants of the concert went on the stage and there was prolonged applause in the hall.
