Guests from Japan – a pianist Taisuke Kanehira and Ensemble “Rechka” performed in Krasnoyarsk
In Krasnoyarsk Japanese musicians presented a program of works by European, Russian and Japanese composers in their own original arrangement. The culmination of the concert became the performance of the suite «Andante maestoso» from the "The Nutcracker" ballet by P. Tchaikovsky and the piano suite "Pictures at an Exhibition" by M. Mussorgsky. The Krasnoyarsk audience really appreciated the talent and professionalism of the soloist Taisuke Kanehira and other musicians of the ensemble. The public also noted the impeccable taste and originality of the performing style.
The Ensemble "Rechka" is called a unique phenomenon in the creative life of Japan. The set of musical instruments is unusual – a piano, an oboe and a cor anglais. In their play the artistes combine the best features of centuries-old traditions of Japanese music with modern musical style.
The leading soloist of the group a pianist Taisuke Kanehira studied in France since the age of 16. His Russian teacher was a pianist Vadim Sakharov. Under his leadership Taisuke achieved high performance mastery and has won several international competitions.
For the Japanese pianist Krasnoyarsk has a special meaning. After the Second World War his grandfather was interned in Krasnoyarsk and he stayed there until the death. Taisuke Kanehira dedicated his performance at the festival to the memory of his grandfather.
Note: The Festival of the Asia-Pacific region will last in Krasnoyarsk till July, 4.
