In the Big Concert Hall of the Philharmonic Society there took place the only concert of an opera singer from South Korea Sumi Jo. The coloratura soprano performed with the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mark Kadin.
In the hall there were no empty seats - all tickets were sold out long before the concert. One and a half hour’s program included the performance of arias from popular operas and operettas: "The bat" by J. Strauss, "The Merry Widow" by F. Lehar, «Romeo and Juliet «by Ch. Gounod and others. Sumi Jo has a perfect voice and a lot of great charm. Both the audience and the orchestra came under her charm. The musicians called the diva’s performance incredible and they were very happy to have a chance to work with the singer of so high level.
Sumi Jo performed at the best opera venues - La Scala, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Covent Garden, the Bavarian and Vienna State Opera Houses. In 2008 within a concert tour with Dmitry Hvorostovsky Sumi Jo visited several countries, including Russia. The singer avowed, that just from Dmitri Hvorostovsky she learned much about Russia and Krasnoyarsk.
"I like to perform for the Russian audience. You always give a very warm welcome to artistes. At concerts in your country I always feel emotions - love of the public, its excitement and anticipation. I am very glad to have an opportunity to work with Maestro Kadin and musicians of the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra. "
Sumi Jo also said that she had visited several venues of the IV International Festival of the Asia-Pacific region. "I walked around the city, attended exhibitions and concerts. One morning I saw hundreds of children rehearsing something in the street. It's great that your city hosts such festival. I have fallen in love with Krasnoyarsk and filled with its energy, "- said Sumi Jo.

A. Mozart and many other works. More than 1 million copies of the collection of popular Broadway tunes «Only Love», which also was recorded by Sumi Jo, have been sold worldwide.
