“The Red Poppy” ballet by R. Glière was presented in the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre with renewed cast during the days of the Asia-Pacific Festival
On June, 30 on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre within the framework of the IV Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific region there was given a legendary ballet of the Soviet era "The Red Poppy" by R. Glière. This ballet was staged in 2010 by People's Artist of the USSR Vladimir Vasiliev - a director, a choreographer and an artist of multimedia scenography.
Love story of a Russian Captain and a Chinese dancer from a tavern called "Red Poppy" was presented with a new cast. The title parties were performed by soloists of the ballet troupe of the theatre Mana Kuwabara (Japan) and Ivan Karnaukhov. The ballerina from Japan joined the Krasnoyarsk Ballet Company at the beginning of this season.
In the plentiful in crowd scenes performance there are also involved students of the Krasnoyarsk Choreographic College. The master highlighted one of them - Elena Khvatova. Before the performance the President of the Galina Ulanova Foundation Vladimir Vasiliev presented this young ballerina "Annual Galina Ulanova Foundation scholarship". "Many graduates from the Krasnoyarsk College and the theater work in other theaters of the country. They have won recognition both on the national and foreign stages. I hope that this talented ballerina will still stay in Krasnoyarsk, in your theater, and will become its soloist, "- said Vladimir Vasilyev.
The Festival of the Asia-Pacific region will last in Krasnoyarsk till July, 4.
