Today in the State Universal Scientific Library of the Krasnoyarsk region the international book-illustrative exhibition “World of books of the Asia and the Pacific Ocean” opened.
The exhibition includes more than 600 books from the library reserves. They reflect the history, culture and literature of the participating countries of the IV Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of Asia-Pacific region. Some books were specially brought to Krasnoyarsk for the exhibition by the representatives of the embassies of India, Mexico, Mongolia, and the United States in Russia. The unique manuscript of the XVIII century written in Persian "The Adventures of four dervishes" is presented in the original. The miniatures from the book are reproduced on the 24 light-boxes and every visitor can see the book painting of the Kashmir-Darvaz school.
In the center of the exhibition there is an original installation - «a glass room» with a Chinese vase inside. The space of the created premises is filled with authentic artifacts of XIX-XX centuries.
In addition, at the opening of the exhibition there took place the presentation of books published in Guatemala. They were introduced by the first secretary of the Embassy of Guatemala in Russia Eduardo Enrique Hernandez Recinos.
The Acting Minister of Culture of the region Elena Pazdnikova congratulated guests and participants on the opening of the first exhibition within the IV Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific region. She also noted that the main task of the festival is a dialogue of cultures, which can be realized by reading and viewing books.
The exhibition is located on the third floor of the State Universal Scientific Library of the Krasnoyarsk region (lecture-room 38, an exhibition hall) and will be open until July, 4 at working time of the library.
Admission is free, a reader's card is not required.
