The APF Organizing Committee received more than 200 applications from volunteers and interpreters from Russia and abroad.
Within six month, people from Krasnoyarsk, Minusinsk, Achins, Tomsk, Almaty (Kazakhstan), Minsk (Belarus), Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Verona (Italy) applied for working at the APF. Among them are students of linguistic departments, postgraduates, those who already have an experience in working with international delegations and those who managed to study languages abroad. Many of them worked at previous Asia-Pacific festivals as well as at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, 15th Federal Sabantui, Sochi Winter Olympics, Summer Students Games and 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan, European Games in Baku and Formula-1.
The next step is an exact professional selection procedure. For example, one obligatory condition for interpreters is Upper-Intermediate level of language. “Volunteer professional training will be covered by leaders of the Regional Flagship program “Team-2019”. The “Team” develops event-volunteering, provides volunteers for largest events at the Krasnoyarsk region and trains them to take part in the Universiade in 2019”, says the Head of the Festival Department Ludmila Borisova.
Common criteria for all candidates is active public stance, self-discipline, responsibility, interest in the Festival, in development of intercultural dialogue and promoting the APF brand in the field of international cultural relations.
